Egypt has condemned drone attacks by Yemen's Houthis on Saudi oil infrastructure, expressing full solidarity with Riyadh after the strikes on routes to Yanbu.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release on Monday stating that the attacks violate Saudi security and stability while undermining regional security. Cairo called for an immediate halt to all such attacks on Saudi Arabia and other Arab nations.
Egypt expressed full support for measures taken by Riyadh to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Houthis claimed responsibility for the drone strikes on crude oil supply sites linking eastern Saudi Arabia to the Red Sea hub of Yanbu.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the operation responded to Saudi drone incursions into Yemeni airspace. Saudi state oil giant Aramco did not immediately comment on the claims.
