Industry Minister Khaled Hashem met a delegation from Türkiye’s Gürok Group to review plans for a new glass tableware factory in Egypt aimed at export markets.
The proposed facility would cover 150,000 square metres and generate around 1,000 jobs. It would rely on advanced technologies to raise energy and water efficiency in production.
Hashem reaffirmed the ministry’s backing for projects that bring technology transfer and strengthen local industry. He said officials stand ready to clear obstacles and speed up the project’s launch.
Esin Göral Argat, vice chairperson of Gürok Group, described Egypt as a key strategic market and gateway for exports to the Middle East and Africa. The group ranks as the world’s fifth-largest glass products maker and currently ships to nearly 140 countries.
