El Carregador beach maintains Blue Flag for four decades

El Carregador beach in Alcossebre has kept the Blue Flag continuously since 1987. This makes it the only beach in Castellón province with a 40-year record.

El Carregador lies opposite the main urban area of Alcossebre and stands out for its width of nearly 70 meters of fine sand. The beach provides services such as lifeguards, showers, restrooms and adapted access for people with reduced mobility.

The 2026 commemorative distinction highlights its unbroken participation in the Blue Flag program, which began in 1987. Only six other Spanish beaches share this four-decade achievement.

The area includes a dune strip at the southern end with vegetation such as sea lily. Sports and recreational activities are organized near the seafront promenade during summer.
