Bogotá’s El Dorado International Airport was named South America’s best in the World’s Best Airports 2026 ranking by Skytrax and placed 37th worldwide.
The recognition is based on traveler surveys evaluating the full passenger experience, including wait times, check-in, cleanliness and customer service.
El Dorado has introduced improvements such as 56 self-check-in modules, automated passport and baggage systems, and protocols for passengers with invisible disabilities.
In 2025 it handled 45.8 million passengers, the highest volume in Latin America. Jairo Fierro of Air Consulting Group noted that modern airports are measured by their ability to connect markets and generate economic value.
Regionally, it is followed by Mariscal Sucre Airport and Arturo Merino Benítez Airport. Globally, Singapore Changi, Incheon and Tokyo Haneda lead the list.
