Fifth Patria colloquium confirms 150 foreign participants

The fifth Patria International Colloquium, dedicated to the centennial of the Commander-in-Chief, has received a strong response with 150 confirmed foreign participants, Ricardo Ronquillo Bello, president of the Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC), announced. The event, coinciding with the 65th anniversary of the Bay of Pigs victory, will feature workshops, panels, and an exhibition in Havana.

The Patria International Colloquium returns for its fifth edition, guided by integrating Cuba's public communication system with leftist approaches adapted to new technological trends.
Ricardo Ronquillo Bello, president of the UPEC, highlighted at a press conference the remarkable response to the call, with 150 foreign participants already confirmed, showing support for Cuba amid media warfare.
"Despite the short time frame in which the call for participation was issued, the response has been remarkable," he stated.

This year, Patria will uniquely serve as a space for preparation and training, with workshops running parallel to main panels and a virtual format to reach communication professionals nationwide.
Daniel González, a member of the Organizing Committee, noted that the event, shaped by the latest technological trends, will feature artificial intelligence and its applications among main themes.

The conference will host a large exhibition space at the Línea y 18 fairgrounds in Havana, where national and international media outlets and communication projects can showcase advances in technology and innovation.
It will also officially inaugurate the headquarters of the Patria project, aimed at becoming a center for study, training, and preparation.

Ronquillo Bello concluded that Patria coincides with symbolically significant dates: the 65th anniversary of the Bay of Pigs victory and the declaration of the Revolution's socialist nature, calling it "the communications-based Bay of Pigs of our time."
