A fire broke out on the sixth floor of a Coupang logistics center in Incheon on July 18, injuring one firefighter.
Authorities received a report of the blaze at 6:54 a.m. A total of 121 people inside the building, including logistics workers, were evacuated.
A Level 1 response was issued around 9:15 a.m., dispatching 219 personnel and 79 pieces of equipment. Fire authorities said the chance of the blaze spreading is low, though flammable objects may delay full control.
President Lee Jae Myung ordered all available resources for extinguishing the fire and minimizing damage while ensuring firefighter safety, according to Cheong Wa Dae spokesperson Kang Yu-jung. Prime Minister Han Seong-sook also urged thorough safety measures for nearby residents and firefighters.
Coupang issued a public apology and pledged full cooperation with the investigation.
