Health releases R-Type IV remix album

Industrial band Health released their fourth remix album, R-Type IV, on April 9, just before back-to-back sold-out shows in Minneapolis and Chicago. The release continues a series that began with R-Type I at the end of February. The band, known for its bleak-yet-lush sound, follows up their December 2025 album Conflict DLC.

Health, formed by Jake Duzsik, John Famiglietti and B.J. Miller, debuted with a self-titled album in 2007. Over 19 years and six full-length records, they have built a following with infectious beats capturing emotional horrors, alongside a humorous social media presence. Their latest full-length, Conflict DLC, arrived in December 2025, described by Duzsik as neo-industrial sad and dystopic songs that remain fun. Influences include the unraveling of civilization and a technocratic nightmare, Duzsik said in an interview from his Los Angeles home. The R-Type series marks rapid output, with R-Type IV dropping a day ahead of sold-out performances in Minneapolis and Chicago, followed by Toronto, Brooklyn, D.C., Nashville and Austin. Duzsik credited the band's consistency to never breaking the habit of writing new music. Health has collaborated with heavyweights like Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor on 'Isn't Everyone,' Deftones' Chino Moreno on 'Anti-Life,' Bad Omens on 'The Drain,' Lamb of God on 'Cold Blood' and Chelsea Wolfe on 'Mean.' Some charted on Billboard's Hot Hard Rock Songs, including the NIN and Bad Omens tracks. Dream collabs include Depeche Mode and 2hollis, with favorites being Xiu Xiu and NIN efforts. The band sells playful merch like branded condoms and butt plugs, introduced in 2023. Duzsik views Harry Styles' July 2025 Pleasing pleasure products as potential flattery if inspired by their items. Health supports END OVERDOSE with free fentanyl testing kits at shows and endorses charities like Unicef.
