HV71 overturned a 0-1 deficit to win 3-2 against Leksand in the second game of the SHL relegation series, now leading 2-0. Hugo Pettersson scored twice while Andreas Borgman netted the decisive goal in the third period. SVT expert Jonas Andersson praised Borgman's class performance.
In the second game of the SHL relegation series, known as ångestkvalet, HV71 hosted Leksand in Jönköping. Leksand struck first through Oskar Lang midway through the first period. Hugo Pettersson quickly replied with both the 1-1 and 2-1 goals within just over two minutes at the end of the period. The second period was goalless, leaving the score intact into the third, when the match hung in the balance. Just over two minutes into the third, Andreas Borgman extended the lead to 3-1 with a class performance in the offensive zone. Leksand's Lukas Vejdemo pulled one back to make it 3-2, but HV71 held on for the win. The victory gives the Jönköping team a 2-0 lead in the series. The next game is in Leksand on Sunday. SVT expert Jonas Andersson analyzed Borgman's goal: “Andreas Borgman var grym i första matchen. Här, ännu bättre.” He added: “När en skicklig spelare kommer med fart och får möta en spelare som han gör där kan det bara sluta på ett sätt.” Pettersson was named match hero with his two goals.
