Björklöven beat Södertälje 4–1 in game five to win the HockeyAllsvenskan semifinal series 4–1 and advance to the final, positioning them one win from SHL promotion. The Umeå team scored three power-play goals after two match penalties against Södertälje, who fought gritty despite injuries. Björklöven await the winner of the Modo–BIK Karlskoga semifinal, currently tied 2–2.
Björklöven clinched their spot in the HockeyAllsvenskan final with a dominant 4–1 victory over Södertälje in the decisive fifth game. After a tight first two periods marred by penalties, Björklöven pulled ahead in the third with three power-play goals.
Södertälje received two match penalties: Leevi Teissala for a slewfoot on Joel Mustonen, and Andrew Vanderbeck for a hit/head tackle on Björklöven captain Axel Ottosson. Fredrik Forsberg opened the scoring on the power play, followed by Daniel Brodin's 2–0 and Axel Ottosson's 3–0 during Vanderbeck's penalty. A Björklöven power-play goal was disallowed after Ottosson tangled with Södertälje goaltender Love Härenstam's stick, as confirmed by officials.
Ottosson, who scored one of the sealing goals, told TV4: 'I love this – playoffs and full arenas.' Södertälje's season ends after a resilient effort despite injuries and penalties.
This marks Björklöven's first SHL promotion chance since the 2000–01 season, after qualifier final losses in 2021 to Timrå and 2022 to HV71.
