IDAC ombudsman receives complaint against Advocate Andrea Johnson

Lawyers for Brigadier Dineo Mokwele filed a complaint against IDAC head Advocate Andrea Johnson with the IDAC ombudsman on allegations of misconduct.

Lawyers for Brigadier Dineo Mokwele filed a complaint against Independent Directorate Against Corruption head Advocate Andrea Johnson with the IDAC ombudsman. The complaint alleges misconduct and misuse of prosecutorial authority.

The filing follows Johnson's appearance before the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria. During the appearance Johnson made concessions in the fraud and corruption case against Police Crime Intelligence head Dumisani Khumalo, Mokwele and others.

Johnson apologised for calling Mokwele's appointment in Crime Intelligence unsuitable. Evidence presented showed Mokwele exceeded expectations based on qualifications alone.

Public Interest SA separately lodged a complaint with the Legal Practice Council regarding Johnson's fitness to practise as a legal practitioner.
