IFK Kristianstad won the Swedish handball championship for men after defeating HK Malmö 41–38 in the fourth final match.
The match was played at Malmö arena in front of 5 836 spectators. Kristianstad thus claimed the series 3–1 in matches and secured its tenth SM gold in total.
Axel Månsson scored twelve goals and seven assists for Kristianstad. He said afterwards: ”Det är så jävla skönt. Vi gör den perfekta säsongen, vinner allt och går bra i Europa.”
Nikola Roganovic scored 13 goals for Malmö. Captain Tim Hilding expressed disappointment: ”Just nu är det ilska, sorg och besvikelse.”
Coach Anders Hallberg is leaving Kristianstad after the win. He said: ”Jag är helt tom.”
