Organisers said this year’s ComplexCon Hong Kong edition had broken attendance records and would draw tens of thousands across the two-day event at AsiaWorld-Expo. On Saturday morning, attendees took selfies with sculptures of Labubu and queued for exclusive merchandise, while others explored local vinyl record social enterprises and T-shirt brands. Blackpink’s Jennie helped draw crowds, as highlighted in the event title. Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law Shuk-pui spoke at the opening ceremony, noting that ComplexCon presented an “impressive and dynamic combination” of pop culture programmes. The event is backed by the government’s Mega Arts and Cultural Events Fund for a third year. “I am delighted to see that our city’s distinctive arts and culture DNA makes it the perfect home for this global convergence of style, trainers, music,” Law said.
