Seattle Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford presented a game-worn Seattle Steelheads jersey to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum during a series in Kansas City. The donation marks the first time a Major League team has worn a regular-season uniform honoring a Negro Leagues squad.
On Saturday, Crawford handed the jersey to NLBM president Bob Kendrick. The item will be added to the museum's collection. Mariners manager Dan Wilson also presented a cash donation from the Mariners Care Foundation to support the NLBM and its planned Buck O’Neil Education and Research Center.
