The Neiva Mayor's Office officially delivered the recovered synthetic field in the Las Brisas neighborhood on May 9, 2026. The project benefits more than 1,500 children, youth and athletes in the area.
The work included a complete replacement of the synthetic turf and improvements to the drainage system. These upgrades aim to ensure better conditions for use and greater durability of the sports facility.
Mayor Germán Casagua Bonilla noted at the handover that the project is part of an 80 billion peso loan, with 3.5 billion allocated to recover 11 public synthetic fields. "We committed to investing public resources in improvements not only here in Las Brisas, but in all of them," he said.
The community took part in a sports day featuring training schools, clubs and a penalty shootout tournament. The Mayor's Office continues work on other venues such as Peñón Redondo, Cándido de la 51 and Parque Mirador del Sur.
