President Javier Milei revealed a reduction in export taxes on wheat and barley during an event at the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange.
Milei spoke yesterday to agribusiness leaders at the 172nd anniversary of the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange. He announced that export taxes on wheat and barley will drop from 7.5 percent to 5.5 percent starting in June 2026.
The president also outlined a gradual reduction for soybeans beginning in January 2027. Depending on revenue, the cut will range from a quarter to half a point per month until 2028 if he is reelected.
He further confirmed that export taxes on the automotive, petrochemical and machinery industries will be brought to zero between July 2026 and June 2027. The Ministry of Economy will release the detailed schedule in the coming days.
