Motorcyclist Sergio Duque dies in road accident in Gigante

Mr. Sergio Duque lost his life on July 19 after crashing his motorcycle into signage at a roundabout on the northern exit of Gigante, Huila.

Authorities from the Seccional de Tránsito y Transporte del Huila are investigating the causes of the accident that occurred on the morning of July 19 at kilometer 5 in the Villa Marín sector. Duque, riding motorcycle plate KOY-76D on the road toward Hobo, lost control of the handlebars and collided with a fixed object.

Paramedics who reached the scene confirmed that the victim showed no vital signs. The body was taken to the Instituto Nacional de Medicina Legal for the required autopsy.

Relatives and friends expressed their grief on social media. Ersy Montealegre wrote: “Sergio was a great person, full of virtues and errors like any human being, but a very good friend and construction worker.”
