The Münchener V-Bank has been targeted in a cyber attack. Personal data of customers and business partners was stolen in the process.
The Münchener V-Bank confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday. According to the bank the attack targeted an external IT service provider.
The bank is Germany's largest deposit bank for independent asset managers. It described the incident as unauthorized data access.
“We can confirm that our bank became the target of unauthorized data access as a result of a cyber attack on an external IT service provider,” the statement said.
