Pakistan's Sidra Amin has been officially reprimanded for a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during the first one-day international against South Africa. The incident involved her slamming her bat on the ground after being dismissed. This marks her second such offence in a 24-month period.
The International Cricket Council announced the reprimand on February 25, 2026, following an incident in the first ODI between Pakistan and South Africa, played on Sunday in Bloemfontein. Sidra Amin breached Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which covers the abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment, or fixtures during an international match.
During the 24th over of Pakistan's innings, Amin was dismissed and reacted by slamming her bat onto the ground before leaving the crease. This action led to the charge, levelled by on-field umpires Kerrin Klaaste and Nimali Perera, third umpire Lauren Agenbag, and fourth umpire Stacy Lackay.
Amin accepted the offence and the proposed sanction from match referee Shandrè Fritz of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees, avoiding the need for a formal hearing. As a result, one demerit point was added to her record, bringing her total to two within the last 24 months. Her previous demerit point came from a similar incident against India on October 5, 2025, during the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
Level 1 breaches under ICC regulations typically result in an official reprimand, with possible fines up to 50 percent of the player's match fee and one or two demerit points. No further details on any fine were provided in the announcement.
