President Gustavo Petro's government reported progress in agrarian reform with an investment of 22 trillion pesos and more than 2.2 million hectares formalized. Minister Martha Carvajalino highlighted reductions in rural poverty and records in agricultural production.
During the current government Colombia recorded the largest investment in the history of agriculture with a budget of 22 trillion current pesos. In 2025 these resources allowed 504,000 rural inhabitants to exit multidimensional poverty and 660,000 to exit monetary poverty.
Agrarian justice advanced with three legislative acts that recognized the peasantry as subjects of special constitutional protection. Twenty-eight decrees and more than 90 resolutions were issued to promote the National Agrarian Reform System. The Statutory Law of the Agrarian Jurisdiction was sanctioned in March 2026.
A total of 806,082 hectares were managed through the National Land Fund and 2.2 million hectares were formalized. Agricultural production reached a record 41.7 million tons and exports reached 15.317 billion dollars.
