Banco Agrario has enabled a debt reprogramming process for agricultural producers in 158 municipalities affected by the climate emergency under Decree 175 of 2026.
The announcement was made by the bank's president, Hernando Chica Zuccardi. The program aims to support holders of agricultural development loans granted before February 11 this year in departments including Córdoba, Sucre, La Guajira, Chocó, Bolívar, Cesar, Magdalena and Antioquia.
The process includes two options: refinancing with grace periods and direct debt relief. The national government will cover up to 95 percent of the obligations under the decree issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Applicants must present a certificate of affectation issued by local authorities. The deadline to do so is May 15. Chica Zuccardi said the bank will analyze how to ease obligations so producers can recover their productive capacity.
