The Superintendencia de Servicios Públicos carried out a preventive inspection of the Empresa de Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Bogotá. Banco Agrario launched an advisory plan for agricultural clients.
The inspection assessed the water supply infrastructure, reservoir levels and actions to guarantee supply to more than two million users in the second half of the year. It also reviewed service continuity, quality and security, the new tariff framework and the handling of petitions, complaints and appeals.
Banco Agrario implemented the “Anticípate al Niño” scheme to evaluate climate risks in agricultural loans and offer financial risk management instruments. President Hernando Chica Zuccardi explained that extensions of up to 180 days are granted for payments due during the intervention period.
The IDEAM noted last week that conditions already exist for the phenomenon’s arrival. According to the NOAA update, there is a 90% probability that El Niño will extend until February next year.
