Primal Scream announces UK tour playing XTRMNTR in full

Primal Scream will perform their 2000 album XTRMNTR in its entirety during a seven-date UK tour this September. The shows kick off with two nights at Glasgow's Barrowland Ballroom. The band also revealed plans for reissues of The Bunker Trilogy.

Primal Scream announced a UK tour celebrating their seminal 2000 album XTRMNTR, with plans to play the record in full at each stop. The itinerary begins September 3 and 4 at Barrowland in Glasgow, Scotland, followed by NX in Newcastle upon Tyne on September 8, Rock City in Nottingham on September 9, New Century Hall in Manchester on September 11, Electric in Bristol on September 13, and HERE at Outernet in London on September 15. Tickets go on sale April 17, as stated by the band. Bobby Gillespie and bandmates follow their 2024 album Come Ahead world tour and a 25th anniversary performance of XTRMNTR at London's Roundhouse last December. That Roundhouse show drew controversy during 'Swastika Eyes,' when visuals showed a Star of David entwined with a swastika, featuring images of figures like Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump. The venue expressed being 'appalled' and reported the matter to police. Primal Scream defended the visuals in a statement: 'The film is a piece of art. It clearly draws from history to question where the actions of current world governments sit in that context.' They added it was 'meant to provoke debate, not hate' and affirmed their right to freedom of expression. Alongside the tour, the band shared initial details on The Bunker Trilogy reissues, expanding Vanishing Point, XTRMNTR, and Evil Heat. Produced with help from The Chemical Brothers, My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields, and Stone Roses bassist Mani, XTRMNTR shifted to a provocative mix of industrial, electronic, and noise rock, tackling political themes.
