Prosecution forms team to investigate Seoul overpass collapse

The Seoul Western District Prosecutors Office announced Wednesday it will form an 11-member team to investigate the Seosomun Overpass collapse that killed three people and injured three others.

The team includes four prosecutors and six investigators. It will cooperate with police and labor officials to determine the cause and assign responsibility while assisting victims.

The partial collapse occurred Tuesday during demolition work on the Seosomun Overpass in western Seoul. The victims were the chief supervisor of an engineering firm, the site manager and an outside expert.

The three injured workers suffered waist, head and rib injuries. A prosecution official said the team will work with police from the warrant stage onward.
