According to Presidential Spokesperson Vincent Magwenya, the Eminent Persons Group gathered these nominations following extensive consultations. Over recent months, organizations representing 33 identified sectors and six sub-sectors convened meetings to choose their representatives. Magwenya emphasized the inclusive approach: “Every effort has been made to ensure that no sector of our society is left behind.”
Beyond the sector-based selections, the President nominated two individuals, while the former Preparatory Task Team and Convention Organising Committee contributed three more members. This structure aims to foster broad participation in the national dialogue initiative, building on prior preparatory efforts.
The announcement underscores ongoing commitments to inclusive governance and societal engagement in South Africa, with the committee poised to guide future discussions on key national issues.
