The Texas Rangers defeated the Cleveland Guardians 10-0 on Sunday afternoon at Globe Life Field. Four home runs and six scoreless innings from Jacob deGrom powered the win.
Manager Skip Schumaker rested shortstop Corey Seager to manage his workload after a back injury. The lineup responded with early offense as Justin Foscue, Josh Jung and Wyatt Langford homered off left-hander Joey Cantillo. Michael Helman added a fourth homer later in the game. Jung finished 2-for-4 and is batting .313 this season. He said the team is creating traffic on the bases and capitalizing on good swings. Langford, who returned from the injured list on June 5, extended his on-base streak to 14 games. In the fourth inning Langford’s 111.3 mph homer struck fan Kenny Yu in the chest. The next inning Langford delivered an autographed ball that read “Sorry for hitting you! Go Rangers!”
