Richard Gere has been added to the cast of Apple TV+'s upcoming eight-part limited series The Off Weeks, alongside Jessica Chastain and Ben Stiller. The series marks Apple's third collaboration with Stiller and was originally set as its second with Chastain. Directed by Michael Showalter, the show follows a writing professor navigating a divorce.
Apple TV+ has bolstered its lineup with the addition of Richard Gere to the cast of The Off Weeks, an eight-part limited series announced last year. Gere will portray a character named Jonathan, joining leads Jessica Chastain and Ben Stiller, as well as Arian Moayed from Succession and Annaleigh Ashford from American Crime Story.
The series is directed by Michael Showalter, known for The Dropout. It represents Apple's third project with Stiller, following Severance and Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost. For Chastain, it was intended as a second collaboration, but her previous series The Savant was pulled from the schedule weeks before its premiere due to Charlie Kirk's assassination.
In the story, Stiller plays a writing professor enduring a messy divorce who encounters Chastain's character. Both actors will serve as executive producers. No release window or premiere date has been announced for The Off Weeks.
Apple TV+ offers a range of acclaimed content, including Severance, The Morning Show, Shrinking, and Silo, available for $12.99 per month.
