SAT cancels permissions for 336 organizations for deductible donations in 2026

Mexico's tax authority SAT revoked authorization from 336 foundations and civil organizations to receive tax-deductible donations in 2026. These groups operate in areas like education, culture, health, and support for vulnerable populations. The move follows identified irregularities in their fiscal compliance.

SAT detected non-compliance with provisions in the Miscelánea Fiscal among the 336 affected organizations. Key irregularities include failure to submit the required informative declaration, unpaid fines, ongoing legal proceedings, lack of annual income and expense declarations, and RFC cancellations in some instances. Consequently, these entities will no longer issue deductible receipts for received donations starting in 2026. Prominent groups on the list are Mexicanos Primero, México Evalúa, and Instituto Mexicano para la Competitividad (IMCO). Others include Asociación de Ayuda Alimenticia para Personas de Escasos Recursos Económicos A.C., Cáritas de la Diócesis de Ecatepec I.A.P., Casa Hogar Aprendiendo a Vivir A.C., and Fundación Lo Podemos Lograr A.C. The full list is available on SAT's portal. This measure is part of a broader review by the tax authority to ensure regulatory compliance in the deductible donations sector.
