Sébastien Lecornu's popularity drops four points in November

Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu's popularity rating fell four points in November to 34% satisfied, according to an Ifop poll for Le Journal du Dimanche. Emmanuel Macron remains at his lowest with 16% satisfied, as 56% of French people report being very dissatisfied with him. This decline is linked to the president's unpopularity contaminating the executive.

The monthly Ifop barometer for Le Journal du Dimanche shows a notable decline in the popularity of executive figures in November 2025. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu, seeking a budget compromise with political forces, sees his rating drop four points in one month to 34% satisfied with his actions.

"Even the most soothing figure in the Macron camp is starting to be contaminated by presidential unpopularity," observes Frédéric Dabi, CEO of Ifop, quoted by the JDD. This analysis highlights the direct impact of Emmanuel Macron's situation on his government.

The president records 16% satisfied, marking the second consecutive month at his lowest level since taking office at the Élysée in 2017. This score approaches François Hollande's unpopularity records of 13%. Even more concerning, the share of very dissatisfied reaches 56%, a record high. "The French are painting an extremely negative picture of the president," analyzes Frédéric Dabi.

This poll comes amid budget and political tensions, where Lecornu struggles to revive initiatives like ecological planning. The results reflect growing discontent with government actions, with no immediate signs of improvement.
