Serena Williams and Carlos Alcaraz spark US Open mixed doubles speculation

Fans are speculating about a possible mixed doubles partnership between Serena Williams and Carlos Alcaraz at the upcoming US Open following an online exchange between the two players.

Alcaraz posted on Instagram saying he is “On the right track.” Williams replied with the comment “They not ready.”

Jon Wertheim said on the Served Podcast that the USTA wants Williams to play at the US Open. He mentioned possibilities including mixed doubles with Alcaraz.

Williams returned to tennis in June at the HSBC Championships. She has played in three draws since then and recorded one win. She withdrew from the women’s doubles at Wimbledon after a knee injury.

Alcaraz has been sidelined since April with a wrist injury. He missed the French Open and Wimbledon. Both players face uncertain return dates, and no partnership has been confirmed.

The US Open is scheduled to begin August 30.
