Sony and Arc System Works reveal Savage Hulk and Shuri for Marvel Tokon

Sony and developer Arc System Works announced Savage Hulk and Shuri as Black Panther as new characters for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls at EVO Japan. These additions complete the game's initial Avengers roster. Fans speculate on remaining villain reveals like Carnage.

Sony and Arc System Works unveiled two new fighters for their upcoming title Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls during EVO Japan this weekend. Savage Hulk and Shuri as Black Panther join the roster, rounding out the initial 20-character lineup on the Avengers side alongside Captain America and Iron Man. The Guardians and X-Men squads are also complete, leaving six spots for potential villains such as Doctor Doom, Thanos, Apocalypse, or Carnage, as hinted in the teaser trailer end. Doctor Doom has already been confirmed for the roster. Marvel Tokon features Savage Hulk exiled to the Savage Land by S.H.I.E.L.D. and Captain America due to his power and instability, equipping him with dinosaur bone armor and a Gamma Gauge for Gamma Rage mode with powerful one-shot attacks. Shuri, newly crowned queen of Wakanda, brings speed and agility, using the Spear of Bashenga for long-range moves and Bast’s Blessing mode to dash across the map. The game is set to release on August 6, positioned between Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday, with four additional DLC characters planned. Swappable skins, including potential paid options, are expected.
