Sphere Entertainment announced Tuesday that a new version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show will debut at its Las Vegas venue in 2027.
Sphere Entertainment revealed the booking at the same time it reported that its retooled version of The Wizard of Oz has sold more than 3 million tickets and generated $400 million since premiering last August.
Executive Chairman and CEO Jim Dolan said the project forms part of Sphere Studios’ work on original experiences built for the venue. He added that the titles push the boundaries of technology and storytelling while keeping the audience at the center of the experience.
The company did not detail how the 2027 production will differ from the 1975 film that became a cultural phenomenon with audience participation. Sphere’s The Wizard of Oz used AI tools and was tailored to the venue’s dimensions, though some viewers criticized the edits.
The announcement comes as venues seek higher-priced, immersive presentations of popular titles to meet demand for in-person events.
