Steam updates official game tags in major overhaul

Valve has updated the tagging system on its Steam platform by adding 17 new tags and removing 28 others. The changes aim to improve how players discover games that match their interests.

Valve made the adjustments on May 19 as part of a rare overhaul to its official store tags. A company blog post stated that the updates help players identify fitting games and improve Steam recommendations. Among the removals are tags such as Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer 40K, Kickstarter, and Mature. New additions include Bullet Heaven for games focused on upgrades and automatic attacks against enemy hordes, as well as tags for Desktop Companion, Cleaning, Decorating, Wuxia, and specific animals like Capybaras and Wolves.
