Steven Sharpe announces Jeff Buckley tribute concert

Steven Sharpe, fresh from his Olympia Theatre debut, will perform a tribute to Jeff Buckley's iconic 1994 album Grace at Dolan's Upstairs in Limerick on May 8, 2026. The event features a full band and aims to capture the album's soaring vocals and poetic lyricism. This show promises an immersive experience for fans of the legendary artist.

Steven Sharpe is set to bring Jeff Buckley's masterpiece album Grace to life in a new tribute performance. Following his recent debut at the Olympia Theatre with a Led Zeppelin tribute, Sharpe will tour with a full band this spring, starting with a show at Dolan's Upstairs on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 11:30 pm. The venue is located at 3-4 Dock Road, V94 VH4X, Ireland.

Grace, Buckley's only full-length studio album released in 1994, is widely regarded as one of the greatest albums ever made. It features soaring vocal performances, sweeping arrangements, and deeply poetic lyrics that continue to inspire musicians and listeners more than 30 years later. Critical acclaim has been strong, with Jimmy Page describing it as 'close to being my favourite album of the decade.' Robert Plant called it 'the finest record of the 1990s.'

For Sharpe, the project is deeply personal. 'Nina Simone and Robert Plant inspired me to sing. They also inspired Jeff Buckley’s singing style, so this feels only natural,' he says. 'This album has always been close to my heart. Approaching it with honesty and respect is something I take seriously.' With experience touring Europe and performing on major Irish stages, Sharpe brings vocal power and emotional depth to Buckley's demanding catalog.

The band includes Dan Smith and Joe Padfield on guitar, Adam Downey on drums, Liam Carr on piano and synth, and Kyle Dee on bass, all from the western Irish music scene. The set will feature full live performances of tracks like 'Hallelujah,' 'Grace,' 'So Real,' 'Last Goodbye,' and 'Lover, You Should’ve Come Over,' along with other Buckley selections.

The event is strictly for those over 18, with ID required. Ticket prices include a booking charge, and no refunds are offered unless canceled. Door times are subject to change.
