The Black Crowes have received their second nomination for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2026. Frontman Chris Robinson expressed excitement about the recognition and shared plans with fellow nominee Oasis. The band is also promoting their upcoming album with a new music video.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced its 2026 nominees on February 25, including The Black Crowes for the second time. Shortly after the news, frontman Chris Robinson spoke by phone with Noel Gallagher of Oasis, who are nominated for the third time. "I told Noel that if we both get in he’s buying dinner — then we instantly got to talking about (soccer)," Robinson told Billboard from his home in Los Angeles.

The bands toured together in the spring of 2001 and were both nominees last year, when The Black Crowes finished eighth in the public fan vote with 165,000 votes. Robinson, who is friendly with Adrian Smith of thrice-nominated Iron Maiden and recalls a great evening with the late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence in Paris (INXS nominated for the first time), views the nomination positively after nearly 40 years in music. "I’m equally as excited," he said. "Just to be included and to be recognized... it’s amazing."

The nomination coincides with the band's focus on their 10th studio album, A Pound of Feathers, set for release on March 13. It follows 2024’s Grammy-nominated Happiness Bastards, their first album in 14 years after reactivating in 2019 following a hiatus. Recorded in Nashville with producer Jay Joyce, the 11-song set features the lead single “Profane Prophecy,” which peaked at No. 22 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.

The Black Crowes released a music video for “Profane Prophecy” on February 25, shot in Los Angeles with a surreal style inspired by filmmaker Russ Meyer, featuring red tones and symbolism. Robinson described the track’s theme as 'the devil you know, the devil you never knew, the devil inside of me and devil inside of you.'

The band begins touring on April 2 in Australia, followed by Tokyo and a Southern Hospitality Tour with Whiskey Myers starting May 17 in Austin, including an August 17 date at the Hollywood Bowl with the Tedeschi Trucks Band. Inductees will be announced in late April, with the ceremony in the fall.

ما يقوله الناس

Reactions on X to The Black Crowes' second Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nomination are mixed. Supporters hail it as potentially their year and praise the band's gritty rock legacy. Critics label them mediocre and argue other acts like Smashing Pumpkins deserve priority. Discussions highlight lineup disputes for possible induction. Chris Robinson's excitement and outreach to Oasis nominee garners positive notes.
