The Cure launched their 2026 European tour with a headlining set at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound on June 5. The band delivered a 29-song performance that included several rarities played live for the first time in years.
The Cure opened their two-and-a-half-hour set with “Alone” from Songs of a Lost World and closed the main portion with “Endsong.” Between those tracks they performed classics such as “Pictures of You,” “Lovesong,” “Fascination Street,” “Just Like Heaven” and “A Forest.” Several deep cuts returned to the stage for the first time in years. “2 Late,” the B-side to “Lovesong,” had not been played since 2019. “alt.end” last appeared in 2018, “Mint Car” in 2016, and “Wrong Number” also in 2019. The full set was streamed on Amazon Prime Video. The group’s next date is June 7 at Porto’s North Festival. Additional summer festival appearances include Rock Werchter, Roskilde, Pinkpop and the Isle of Wight. Robert Smith has previously stated that a follow-up album to Songs of a Lost World is “virtually finished” and that a third record is also in progress.
