Toronto Maple Leafs sign Sergei Bobrovsky

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed veteran goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky to a three-year contract worth 21 million dollars. The 37-year-old Russian joins after seven seasons with the Florida Panthers.

According to Sportsnet, Bobrovsky agreed to the deal as free agency opened. He won two Stanley Cups during his time in Florida but posted an 87.7 save percentage last season, his lowest with the team, as the Panthers missed the playoffs.

Toronto had been seeking a new starting goalie after trading Joseph Woll to the Philadelphia Flyers. Florida earlier signed Jacob Markström to take Bobrovsky's place.

The Maple Leafs also added center Jack Roslovic on a two-year, eight-million-dollar contract and forward Colton Sissons on a two-year, 8.5-million-dollar deal. Elliotte Friedman later reported that Toronto reached agreement with Teddy Blueger on a two-year contract worth five million dollars.
