The city of Tuiuti, with 7,000 residents, holds a supplementary mayoral election on Sunday but risks remaining without a municipal executive leader.
Tuiuti, located 110 km from São Paulo, will hold its second mayoral election since October 2024 on Sunday (21). The Superior Electoral Court rejected the candidacy of Amarildo Lima (PSB), the top vote-getter in the 2024 poll, due to ineligibility under the Clean Record Law following a second-instance conviction.
His daughter, Milena do Amarildo (PSB), is running in the supplementary election. However, the Regional Electoral Court ruled against the registration of her running mate Roberto Zamana (PSB) because the filing occurred after the 20-day deadline before the election.
Milena stated that the ticket filed an appeal and expressed confidence: "We will win and take office, we will deliver a beautiful term". Other candidates are Careca (União) and Pedrinho (MDB).
