Two Hong Kong tourists died and two others were injured in a single-vehicle crash on New Zealand's South Island on May 15.
The crash happened near the intersection of North Rakaia Road and State Highway 1 in Selwyn District. New Zealand police received the report at about 1:12 p.m. local time on Friday.
The Chinese consulate in Christchurch said it activated its emergency response mechanism the next day. It urged the hospital to provide full treatment for the injured and pledged timely consular assistance to the victims and their families.
