Two women detained at Santiago airport for credit card fraud

Two Chilean women aged 25 and 26 were detained by Carabineros at Arturo Merino Benítez Airport after a complaint about fraudulent charges on a credit card used to buy tickets to Madrid.

The operation was carried out by the Sección de Investigación Policial following a complaint received on the morning of May 28, 2026. Investigators identified the suspects and confirmed both had a scheduled international flight to Madrid.

An operation led to their detention at the airport.

The women were handed over to the courts for a detention hearing.
