Unverkalt releases new single Oath Ov Prometheus

The post-metal band Unverkalt has unveiled their latest single, Oath Ov Prometheus, as a glimpse into their forthcoming album Héréditaire. Originally from Greece and now based in Germany, the group continues to evolve their sound with this track. The release builds on their previous single and sets the stage for the full album's arrival next month.

Unverkalt, a post-metal ensemble that originated in Greece before relocating to Germany, has dropped a new single titled Oath Ov Prometheus. This track serves as an atmospheric introduction to their upcoming full-length album, Héréditaire, due out on February 27, 2026, via Season of Mist. It follows the earlier single Die Auslöschung, further showcasing the band's signature blend of dense, layered soundscapes.

While rooted in post-metal, Oath Ov Prometheus incorporates stronger black metal influences, including slow-building tension and harsh vocals juxtaposed against expansive, cinematic arrangements. The result is a piece that feels both oppressive and vast. Lyrically, the song explores mythological motifs centered on creation, inheritance, and the enduring impact of human actions—themes that underpin the entire Héréditaire project.

Over the years, Unverkalt has cultivated a following for their immersive, emotionally charged music. They merge traditional post-metal frameworks with blackened edges and experimental touches, refining their style with each release. This single aligns seamlessly with their discography yet advances their sonic boundaries.

The album Héréditaire features a tracklist that includes: Die Auslöschung, Oath Ov Prometheus, Ænæ Lithi, A Lullaby for the Descent, Penumbrian Lament, Introjects, I, the Deceit (feat. Sakis Tolis), Death Is Forever, and Maladie de l’Esprit. Fans of atmospheric and intense metal will find much to anticipate in this progression of Unverkalt's work.
