Wolves force Game 5 with overtime win over Marlies

The Chicago Wolves rallied from a two-goal deficit in the third period to defeat the Toronto Marlies 4-3 in overtime during Game 4 of the Calder Cup Finals on June 18.

Viktor Neuchev scored the decisive goal 3:18 into overtime after scooping up a loose puck and beating goaltender Artur Akhtyamov. The Wolves tied the game with two goals 65 seconds apart in the third period, first on a shot by Domenick Fensore and then a wraparound by Justin Robidas.

Cayden Primeau made 33 saves for Chicago, including 19 in a first period where the Marlies outshot the Wolves 21-5. Toronto had taken a 3-1 lead on goals from Jacob Quillan, Luke Haymes and Ryan Tverberg.

Wolves head coach Spiros Anastas described the team's approach after the win. “Our approach has been a Game 7 mentality,” he said. “We’re 4-0 in elimination games. That’s our identity. That’s our team. We don’t give up; we fight back.”

Toronto leads the best-of-seven series 3-1. Game 5 was scheduled for June 19 at Coca-Cola Coliseum.
