Presidential Chief of Staff Dudung Abdurachman visited victim YTR at RSHS Bandung and conveyed President Prabowo Subianto’s attention to the captivity and torture case she endured.
Dudung Abdurachman stated that President Prabowo requested the case be processed according to applicable law. He assessed that suspect Taufik Hidayat’s actions had exceeded the limits of humanity after seeing the victim’s condition.
Victim YTR was found in a dire state after allegedly being held captive for three years in a boarding room in Rancaekek, Bandung Regency. The victim’s father, Irin, described the wound-cleaning process that revealed maggots and a large volume of pus.
West Java Police have arrested Taufik Hidayat and formed a joint task force to investigate possible sexual violence and the perpetrator’s motive. Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the government will cover the victim’s physical and mental recovery costs.
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi redirected the Rp250 million reward fund into a deposit for the victim following the suspect’s arrest.
