Taufik Hidayat (30) was arrested by a joint team from West Java Regional Police on Tuesday night, 23 June 2026, in Griya Pesona housing complex, Ciparay, Bandung Regency.
West Java Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan said the arrest took place around 6:30 p.m. local time after investigators traced the suspect's online transaction records. Taufik had fled to Tangerang before returning to Majalaya.
The suspect was placed in a special cell equipped with CCTV and monitored around the clock. Police will conduct a psychiatric examination due to the alleged extreme violence. Drug test results were negative, while Taufik admitted committing the violence while intoxicated with Intisari liquor.
YTR's family welcomed the arrest. The victim's brother Sandy said he wanted to take the perpetrator's eyes for his sister. West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi called for punishment commensurate with the crime.
