Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid met with British Ambassador Mark Bryson-Richardson to review bilateral economic cooperation.
The meeting focused on attracting new British investments, supporting existing companies and increasing bilateral trade. Officials discussed operations of British firms including AstraZeneca and opportunities in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
Farid highlighted ongoing reforms to improve the business environment and addressed regulatory issues in pharmaceuticals. The sides also explored boosting Egyptian agricultural exports such as strawberries and grapes to the UK.
Ambassador Bryson-Richardson noted growing British interest in Egypt and reaffirmed the UK's commitment to strengthening ties under the Egypt-UK Partnership Agreement. Both parties agreed to hold regular follow-up meetings.
