Mia Citra Rumaisah became the 16th fatality in the train crash at Stasiun Bekasi Timur on Monday. Her father, Muhammad Hamid, recounted how she was rescued alive after her leg was trapped for 10 hours but died after surgery. Her body was buried in Ngawi, East Java.
Mia Citra Rumaisah died in the crash between a Commuter Line train and KA Argo Bromo Anggrek at Stasiun Bekasi Timur last Monday. She was recorded as the 16th fatality, based on data up to Wednesday afternoon.
Muhammad Hamid, Mia's father, recounted the timeline. "Anak saya kebetulan di gerbong wanita. Pulang kerja dari kantor sampai di stasiun Bekasi Timur sekitar jam 19.00 atau 19.30," he said on Friday, May 1, 2026.
His daughter had no serious initial injuries, but her leg was trapped for about 10 hours, disrupting blood flow. Doctors recommended surgery as her right leg turned blue and blood did not circulate. "(Meninggal) sebenarnya bukan karena operasinya... Setelah dioperasi lancar darahnya, sehat sebenarnya," Hamid stated.
After surgery, Mia's condition improved temporarily, and Hamid spoke with her. He attributed her death to divine will. Her body was taken to a funeral home in Ngawi, East Java, and buried Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, Polda Metro Jaya has elevated the crash investigation to the prosecution stage, including TKP checks, witness examinations, evidence collection, and CCTV review by Subdit Kamneg Ditreskrimum.
