Gibran pledges type C hospital and MBG program expansion in Asmat

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming visited Asmat District in South Papua on 21 June 2026 and announced commitments to strengthen health services and expand the Free Nutritious Meals program.

Gibran inspected RSUD Perpetua H. Safanpo and pledged to build a type C hospital in the area.

"I promise there will be construction of a type C hospital in Asmat," Gibran said.

He also highlighted potential cooperation for the Free Nutritious Meals program with local churches and school canteens.

Asmat Regent Thomas E. Safanpo stated the program has boosted student attendance and helped reduce stunting.
