Lawyers call Barci de Moraes firm's air taxi use unusual and costly

In the wake of revelations about eight flights chartered by Viviane Barci de Moraes's law firm on aircraft linked to Daniel Vorcaro of Banco Master, lawyers from major firms described the practice as rare and out of touch, preferring cheaper commercial options. The firm and Minister Alexandre de Moraes denied irregularities.

Following Folha de S.Paulo's reporting on eight flights between May and October 2025—seven on Prime Aviation jets linked to Daniel Vorcaro via a fund and one on a Falcon 2000 controlled by his brother-in-law Fabiano Zettel—lawyers from prominent firms expressed surprise at the Barci de Moraes firm's reliance on such services for routine Brasília-São Paulo routes.

"This kind of comfort is considered out of touch with reality," one anonymous lawyer said. Standard practice involves advance commercial tickets, with charters reserved for exceptions like unavailable flights, and requiring special approvals.

Costs are steep: around R$70,000 for a Phenom 100 on this route, higher for other models, despite ample commercial availability.

Barci de Moraes stated it hires 'various air taxi services' based on operational needs, with no personal ties to Vorcaro or Zettel, and costs offset against a R$3.6 million monthly Banco Master contract until November 2025. Minister Alexandre de Moraes called reports 'absolutely false' and denied any joint flights with Vorcaro or Zettel.
