The African National Congress in Limpopo has removed two mayors from their positions. Miyelani Chauke replaced Fredah Nkondo as executive mayor of Vhembe District Municipality. Chauke was inaugurated during a special council sitting in Thohoyandou.
In Tzaneen, Odas Ngobeni is set to replace Gerson Molapisane. The decision was made at a provincial executive committee meeting earlier this week.
Party spokesperson Ernest Rachoene said the new mayors must speed up service delivery. He stressed the need for water provision and other essential services for residents.
