Le Congrès national africain du Limpopo a démis deux maires de leurs fonctions. Miyelani Chauke remplace Fredah Nkondo au poste de maire exécutif de la municipalité du district de Vhembe. Chauke a été investi lors d'une séance spéciale du conseil à Thohoyandou.

À Tzaneen, Odas Ngobeni doit remplacer Gerson Molapisane. La décision a été prise lors d'une réunion du comité exécutif provincial en début de semaine.

Le porte-parole du parti, Ernest Rachoene, a déclaré que les nouveaux maires devaient accélérer la prestation de services. Il a souligné la nécessité de fournir de l'eau et d'autres services essentiels aux résidents.
