L'ANC du Cap-Oriental sous le choc après le meurtre de la conseillère Thumeka Bikwana

Le Congrès national africain (ANC) du Cap-Oriental a exprimé son choc suite au meurtre de Thumeka Bikwana, membre du comité mayoral des services aux entreprises dans le district de Chris Hani. Son corps, portant une blessure par balle, a été découvert à son domicile dans le village de Tshatshu mardi.

Le parti a décrit Bikwana comme une fonctionnaire dévouée et une politicienne loyale. Le porte-parole provincial, Yanga Zicina, a exhorté les forces de l'ordre à agir rapidement pour traduire les responsables en justice.

Zicina a souligné le problème persistant de la violence basée sur le genre dans la province. Il a noté que le meurtre de femmes militantes et de fonctionnaires reste une préoccupation majeure pour les communautés à travers le Cap-Oriental.

L'ANC a réclamé une enquête approfondie sur les circonstances du décès. Pour l'heure, les autorités n'ont divulgué aucun détail supplémentaire concernant d'éventuels suspects ou mobiles.
